Lettuce and Carrots

My best friend was having to close down his office and had been calling around to other companies seeing if they wanted to buy all of his computer equipment. He had even put ads in the paper about them and no one was buying. He really needed the cash to pay his employees their last paychecks and was not having any luck.

I asked him how much he needed and he told me that five thousand dollars would make the payroll but the used poweredge servers alone were worth at least that if he could just find a buyer. I made him a deal that I would give him the five thousand dollars if he would give me that proceeds from the sale of the used servers he had. He had no other choice and took the deal.

I went ahead and included the make and model of the used poweredge servers in an ad I was placing for a car that I was selling just to see if someone would call about it. My father told me that the computer shop in the next town over was going out of business and he wanted to know if I wanted to drive over with him and take a look at what they had left. If you were a total brick and mortar store would you let a cheap weekend warrior handyman construct your store front or do you want a professional remodeling contractor to do it?

Your website is normally your first impression of your company so do not let that be jeopardized to save a few bucks right out of the gate. Think long term results and how a bad website design could cost you traffic and sales.

I hired some different web companies to help me with my website and start closing more sales, once the traffic got to my site. I was thinking that Danny DeMichele could possibly help me and then found that he actually could. I started by reading the book that he wrote online and knew that maybe I could do some of the stuff that needed to be done on my own.

I also was happy to see that Danny DeMichele is considered a search engine marketing professional by many people. This makes me think that I have chosen the best person to learn from. I may even need to rethink all the other companies that I hired to help my site.

If I have to choose just one company to help me, then I know that Danny DeMichele will be that one company that I hire. I have learned so much and I am only half way through the book that I bought from him. I think that a colleague of mine said that he is also reading the book. We were comparing notes on what we had learned from it and we were both really impressed. We plan on getting together after we have finished it and comparing notes again then also.

I was rather fond of my father when I was younger, but knew that he had a really mean side to him also. He was a famous actor and he always was photographed and written about in the tabloids. I would hate to see how much press he would get these days, with the internet and stuff. I know that I have a friend who works with a place called ReputationManagers.com, I can only imagine that my father would have to have hired them if he were alive today and still acting.

All of the stories that the ReputationManagers.com has to deal with will always be on the web. My father’s stories were only on newspapers and most of those are probably gone by now. I cannot imagine how much harder it is for celebrities these days with the internet following you wherever you go. I guess that your fans are always taking pictures and posting them on the internet right away, within seconds of taking it.

My father only had to deal with a handful of reporters compared to the many hundreds of paparazzi that roam the streets today, not to mention just the general public and all the technology that they are armed with also.

I was really looking forward to having the poweredge servers installed over the weekend but after my secretary dropped one of them and broke off a little piece, I knew that it was not going to happen. I called a dell repair specialist that I have used before and they came out and looked at it and told me that they would have to order the part and it would probably take about three days for it to come in.

If they got the part for the poweredge servers in, then I might be able to still have them installed this weekend. I was not holding my breath because sometimes things do not come in like they say and parts are on backorder all the time. The dell repair company assured me that this was a part that they were sure was in stock and as long as it shipped out by three today, they would have it within the time they had quoted me.

Exactly three days later the repair shop let me know that they would be by to install the broken piece on my server with a new one. I was happy that they got to it so quickly since I had lined up the installation crew and gave them the go ahead for this weekend. By Monday, my company would be online with brand new poweredge servers.

The four new system x servers that were ordered last week by the technical department have just been delivered. I signed for them, and called up to let them know that they needed to come down and get them. The gentleman that answered the call told me that he would send down a maintenance man in the next hour to retrieve them.

That did not seem like a very good deal. The interior painting company that just moved into our building, offered to come over and paint our entire office, if we would just tell people what a great job they had done. My boss had been complaining about the color of the walls for about two years, but he was too cheap to hire anyone to change it for him. When the interior painting company made this offer, he jumped on it. He knew that this was a great thing and he should not hesitate to take them up on it.

My boss put me in charge of the colors that the painters would put up, and I knew what my boss’s favorite colors were and I chose them. The interior painters came in on a Saturday morning, and by Sunday night they had transformed the entire office. It looked completely different; it was very warm and inviting.

When my boss came in on Monday morning, he was thrilled with the job that the interior painters had done. He immediately sent out a mass email to everyone on his contacts list to tell them all about the new interior painting company that had moved into our office building. I think that the interior painters got exactly what they wanted out of the deal, my boss has over six hundred contacts in his email account and I think that they knew it.

If the whole thing ends up working out then I will think about using him again but if it takes too much more time then I would not use him or recommend him to anyone else.
