How the use of harnesses for dog seat belt could be useful
Car restraints of any type used for your pet dog have got a number of benefits. The first thing a belt fastening your dog does is to prevent your dog from being thrown out of the window of the car. It also prevents distraction in the driver. An unrestrained dog can cause major accidents for you. For example when you are driving a car, or when you are traveling with your pet in a designer dog carrier a restless dog can really spell disaster by distracting you or messing with your movements by trapping you.
Take another example. You are having your dog along side while driving the car. The dog is free. The sight of a dog food container placed by the side of the driver excites the dog and it jumps to collect the same. In the process you or the driver is distracted causing accidents.
With a free dog by your side you do not think of keeping the windows open. Even if it is sleeping comfortably on the pet bed provided by you inside the car the next moment it could be wide awake and jump at the sight of anything.
Therefore prudence demands that you should always try to have your dog fastened securely with the seat belts for dogs so that all these contingencies are taken care of adequately. The choice is yours but in case of a mishap if you have not taken the necessary precautions, you will have no one but yourself to blame only.
