Waveguides - Nature and Technology Working Together

Many people today think that technology is working against Mother Nature. It may be true specially with all the environmental destruction that’s been brought about by modernization and progress. Forests are being replaced by cities and this disturbs the balance of nature. It’s why many blame mankind and science for the problems that are rising as a result of that imbalance.

But that thinking is highly unfair considering that most technological advances came from studying the different forces that nature governs. A prime example of this is microwave technology that’s currently being used in most communication systems aside from the appliance found in our kitchen counters.

This is a result of observing how energy travels and how they can be used for human activities such as watching TV, listening to radio, or surfing the internet. If not for the great minds that brought us waveguide technology like rectangular waveguide transitions and other waveguide components we wouldn’t be any different from the cavemen who once roamed the earth. This should be enough proof that science is not the enemy of nature. Maybe it’s the people who use them improperly who are.
