First Time - Next Time

It was my first time to visit Galena, Illinois and my friend, Lilly, brought me in a Galena bed and breakfast which was a bit creepy. It was big, too huge actually and it felt aged. It had a mixture of contemporary and old pieces - something I did not divulge in because at that moment, I was very, very and overly tired. I just handed Lilly $75 for my share for the room. We went up, I didn’t even remember how many flights. I just wanted to lie down and sleep.

I woke up around 6 am the next day. Sun was shining through the window - nice curtains by the way. Didn’t look a bit cheap but the first thing I really noticed and was fixated on was the fireplace which reminded of my grandma. I grew up in a farm in Ohio and we had a fireplace. It wasn’t fancy like what the hotel had but it did bring back good memories. The bed was awesome. I don’t know if it was mahogany or some other kind of strong wood, but it did make me feel like a princess. I stayed for another 30 minutes just looking at the insides of the room. Could it be one of the most beautiful Galena Hotels in town? Maybe.

When I went down, I was mesmerized. I didn’t see how beautiful the mansion was until that morning. Sadly, we had to leave early but I will be back. I will. For sure.
