Selling Old Jewelry To Pay The Bills

I made a list of ways to make a little extra cash during this hard time. I was laid off about six months ago and cannot seem to find a job that pays more than just collecting unemployment. I have sent over two hundred resumes out over the last six months with no luck.

One of the things that I have on my list that I think will be the easiest and the most lucrative but I really hoped that it would not come to this, is selling old jewelry. I have boxes of old pieces from my paternal and maternal grandmothers that should be worth thousands. I was planning on passing them on to my daughter when she was older but I need to make sure that she is taken care of right now.

So, I am going to sort through the old jewelry and choose some of the bigger pieces and head out to the local shops to sell old jewelry and hopefully make enough to pay the bills for this month. If I just start selling old jewelry little by little then I may be able to find a job soon and not have to get rid of everything.

I know that to sell old jewelry is not a horrible thing but I cannot believe that my life has come to heading to pawn shops and asking them how much will you give me for this, hoping to hear a magic number that will pay for my house, my food and all the rest of the necessities for the next month.
