Lettuce and Carrots

When we were in the process of looking for our first home to buy as a married couple, it seemed that all we could afford were homes that needed a lot of work. I was very disappointed with that, but my husband thought that it was a great challenge for us, and wanted to buy a home right away that we could start working on and making it our own. I knew that we would have to find a Minnesota remodeler to start coming on some of our appointments with us, to give us an idea of what it would cost to repair some of these homes that needed so much work.

I knew that one of the houses we had seen last week was definitely in need of vinyl replacement windows but I had no idea what something like that would cost. I made some calls to some of my friends who gave me the name of a Minnesota remodeler that they trusted and then called to see if he would be available to walk through the house that needed the vinyl replacement windows and give us a ball park figure of what the repairs would cost.

We met the real estate agent and the Minnesota remodeler representative the following day and he wrote down everything that needed to be done to the house and then gave us the final numbers, and we decided that we could just afford to do all of that at this time and are going to just continue renting for another year.
